Let’s Make a Deal . . . To Make A Difference
So, you may already know that Dining Out For Life is next Thursday on July 19th. Heck, you might already have gathered together a group and made your reservations. That’s just one of the reasons why we love you. Now this may come as a shock, but not everyone in the Greater New Orleans Metropolitan Southeast Louisiana Area knows about Dining Out For Life and just how easy and fun it is.
That’s why we’re asking you to help us out. We want you to help spread the word about this event and the awesome restaurants that are participating.
How can I do this, you say? I can’t afford to hire a plane to write http://www.diningoutforlife.com in the sky between now and next Thursday. (Seriously, though, if anyone can do this, you will be the first official member of the newly minted NO/AIDS Task Force Hall of Awesomeness).
All we want you to do is use all those new-fangled social media tools like facebook and twitter and tag us and tell us where you are Dining Out next Thursday. And encourage your friends to do the same.
So what’s in it for you? Well, that’s why we want you to tag us when you post. We’re going to take all of those posts and tweets total them up, and then let random.org pick a winner for us totally at, well, random. The winner will get two tickets to the totally swanky Art Against AIDS at the New Orleans Museum of Art on Saturday, December 1st. (It’s a totally happening event. Bryan Batt is usually there as is Nell Nolan. You might even make it on the society page!).
What’s that you say? I wanna do more than that to help. Plus I’m really smart and creative and I want to have fun with this.
We say . . . go for it. Make a YouTube video that’s an ode to your favorite Dining Out For Life restaurant or get some friends together and form the Dining Out For Life co-ed cheerleading squad complete with uniforms and cheer in the neutral ground during rush hour. As long as you document it and let us know about it, you could win a copy of the recently-released, award winning documentary “We Were Here” for being the Most Creative (which will be selected by a panel of judges made up of some of the most creative people we know, with two just plain weird people thrown in). While the cheerleading squad thing would be neat, we’re totally cool with you making an awesome timeline photo for your profile or a funny video of you and some friends dining out.
