LPN for work with Gay/Bi Men’s Health & Wellness Clinic.

 

Responsible for collecting samples blood, urine, rectal & oral swab, etc. in non-clinical settings (agency satellite office, community venues such as bars and clubs, etc.) as ordered.  Assists with data collection for various reporting purposes.  Provides support to clinicians. Collecting samples such as urine, blood, oral & rectal swabs for STI testing (Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, Syphilis),Prepare specimens for transport to lab Assist in providing education and risk screening to patients & patient’s personal support system in areas such as disease management, sexual risk, safer sex, etc. Assist in conducting sexual risk & history assessments. Document services performed for compliance and reporting purposes. Review provider orders, lab requests & follow-up needs with patients. Document observations in patient’s medical record as requested by the medical team. Maintain standard precautions for infection control. Maintain nursing logs & other documentation as required by policies and procedures

Must be able to work nontraditional hours.  Must be able to work with diverse communities.   Must be willing to work in non-traditional settings for STI testing, including bars, clubs, other community venues.  Must have valid driver’s license. HIV/AIDS knowledge preferred.  Must hold current Professional License.  Must be certified phlebotomist.
