Where to Dine Out For Life: Pizza

Who doesn’t love pizza? It’s so simple, yet so good. It’s the perfect communal food if you’re dining with a group, and also a sinful guilty pleasure to eat alone. We eat it when we’re celebrating or we have it delivered when we’re just too tired to cook.  There’s a reason that saying about pizza and sex is so pervasive. And it’s probably why we have so many pizza options for Dining Out For Life.

Crescent Pie and Sausage Company: This Mid City restaurant serves up some innovative and delicious pizza as well as house-made sausages, some seriously hearty sandwiches and some of the best jambalaya in town.

Fresco: Delicious pizza and pasta and sandwiches and additional menu items that skew in the Mediterranean/Middle-Eastern direction. Plus they have a great patio for al fresco dining with “mist”ers so you’re sure to stay cool in the heat.

Louisiana Pizza Kitchen (FQ): LPK has been supporting NO/AIDS and Dining Out For Life for many, many years. Always a popular destination, this Louisiana Pizza Kitchen is located at the edge of the French Market with not only traditional pizzas, but some creative and unique options as well.

Louisiana Pizza Kitchen (Uptown) No, you’re not seeing double. There’s another Pizza Kitchen located uptown on Carrollton at St. Charles. Lots of delicious pizza and pasta on the menu. Plus this location has a theme every year for DOFL , and this year it’s “Disco.”  So come dressed accordingly as all of the staff will be.

Mark Twain’s Pizza Landing: Exceptional pizza and delicious sandwiches in the heart of Old Metairie. It’s always a fun time here for Dining Out For Life. Owner Jacque is a true character and that fun and lively spirit extends to his food and atmosphere.

Mona Lisa: This beloved Italian joint at the quieter end of the French Quarter serves great pizza and pasta. It’s so quaint and comfortable that you’ll want to order a bottle of wine and settle in for the night.

Nonna Mia: Located on Esplanade Avenue, just a stone’s throw from Bayou St. John, this brightly colored building houses an extensive menu of pizza, pasta, sandwiches and salads. They also have a great courtyard for al fresco dining.
